Renowned Writer, Prof. John Pepper Clark dies at 85

NEWSMAN, Abuja – One of Africa’s pre-eminent, distinguished writer and Professor of Literature, John Pepper Clark is dead.
A statement by Clark’s family reveals that he died in the early hours of Tuesday.
“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce that Emeritus Professor of Literature and Renowned Writer, Prof. John Pepper Clark, has finally dropped his pen in the early hours of today, Tuesday, 13 October, 2020”, the statement read.
It added that 85-year-old Prof. J. P. Clark “paddled on to the great beyond in comfort of his wife, children and sibbling, around him”.
According to the family, other details would be announced later.
