Kelechi Madu Appointed NSCDC Acting CG As Gana Bows Out

NEWSMAN, Abuja – Deputy Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Hilary Kelechi Madu, has been appointed Acting Commandant General of the corps.
Madu took over from the former Commandant-General, Abdullahi Gana.
Gana, whose extended tenure of six months expired yesterday January 18, 2021 has bowed out of service.
Early hours of Monday, Gana officially handed over the mantle of the NSCDC leadership to the DCG Operations, Kelechi Madu, at the corps headquarters, Abuja.
Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, had extended Gana’s tenure by six months when his tenure expired in July, 2020.
Recall that the outgoing CG was appointed in July 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Before then, he was the Assistant Commandant General ACG in charge of Procurement at the NSCDC Headquarters.
