Gov. Uzodinma attends first NEC meeting as Osinbanjo presides

Newly sworn-in Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma on Thursday attended his first National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Uzodinma, the newest member of the council was the cynosure of all eyes as he exchanged banters with other governors before the meeting commenced as presided by Vice Pesident Yemi Osinbajo.

It is the first meeting of NEC for the year 2020.
Nigeria’s constitution provides that the vice president should be the Chairman of NEC, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The monthly NEC meeting deliberates on economic planning efforts and programmes of the various levels of government in the country.
NEC comprises the 36 state governors, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Minister of Finance, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and some other government officials whose duties hinge on the economy.
