Council chairman arrested for allegedly colluding with bandits
NEWSMAN, Katsina – Katsina State Police Command has arrested the Former Jibia local government caretaker chairman, Haruna Mota, for colluding with bandits in carrying several forms of criminal attacks in the state.
Katsina Command Spokesman, SP Gambo Isa, on Sunday confirmed the arrest said ‘‘The ex-chairman has been arrested and charged to court for aiding and abetting banditry and other sundry crimes in the state’’.
Adding that the culprit was incriminated in a leaked video conversation with the bandits, The Nation reported.
Isa revealed that ‘‘Mota has been arrested and charged to court for conspiracy, aiding and abbetting and terrorism.
‘‘But I cannot confirm whether he was the mastermind of Kankara students’ abduction”.
It was recalled that an audio recording went viral recently implicating the ex-council chair in a discussion with one of the bandits’ leaders over the recent abduction of Kankara students.
