COVID-19: Nigeria set to ban some countries from entry
NEWSMAN, Abuja – Nigeria has announced its decision to ban entry of some countries amid the corona virus pandemic in a bid to ensure safety of its airports and the citizens at large.
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who spoke on Monday at the briefing on Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, said Nigeria has also been restricted from entering some countries, when asked about when the country will begin international travels “certainly you are very aware that so many countries had placed ban on countries that we cannot go even from Nigeria”, PUNCH reported.
“Also Nigeria, of course, will place ban on other countries that cannot come in here, because everyone is trying to keep safe, “These and many other reasons will make us to be cautious, to study some more and to liaise with all the stakeholders and decide when we will open for international flights” Sirika added.
The aviation boss further revealed that safety of air travels was another reason why government had not approved the re-commencement of commercial international flights into and out of Nigeria
