Liverpool forward Salah tests positive for COVID-19 again
NEWSMAN – Mohamed Salah has returned another positive Covid-19 test, the Egyptian Football Association has confirmed, meaning he will have to continue a period of self-isolation.
Salah, 28, initially tested positive last week, despite not displaying any symptoms.
The Egyptian FA announced on November 14 that the Liverpool star, who was not showing symptoms of the virus, had tested positive for coronavirus despite initial confusion over the test results.
He is likely to miss the Reds’ next two games because of self-isolation rules.
Liverpool host Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday and then Atalanta in a Champions’ League group match on November 25, Sky Sports reported.
Salah posted on social media “I’d like to thank everyone for the supportive messages and well wishes. I’m confident I’ll be back on the field soon.”
Salah has started all eight of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season, scoring eight goals.
