Commuters stranded in Kano As tricycle operators begin strike

NEWSMAN, Kano – Operators of Tricycle in Kano withdrew their services from major streets across Kano metropolis on Monday that left hundreds of Commuters, School children stranded.

The warning strike was sequel to government failure to suspend N100 daily tax on Tricycle operators in the state.

This is as a result of the withdrawal of services by tricycle operators to protest the state government’s refusal to suspend the collection of the N100 daily levy.

The tricycle riders had last Saturday mobilized members for street protest where they distributed flyers of a planned protest on Monday.

Numerous workers were stranded at their respective bus stops, while some, whose places of work are within the vicinity trekked. Only a few cabs plying the roads are busy conveying passengers to their different destinations.
