Buhari mourns Ghana’s Ex-President, Rawlings’ Death

NEWSMAN, Abuja – After Kwame Nkrunah, J. J. Rawlings as he was fondly called, was arguably Ghana’s most influential leader, leading two military coups, serving as a military ruler and winning two democratic elections before successfully handing over power.
Rawlings is on record for executing eight senior Ghanaian government officials including three heads state during his conttoverial anti-corruption campaign.
He recently buried his aged mother and reportedly died at 73 from a brief illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the nation’s capital, Accra.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has paid tributes to the late leader.
Buhari further prayed that “the almighty God will grant the Ghanaian leader eternal rest, and comfort all his loved ones”.
