Buhari meets APC governors over party crisis, factions
NEWSMAN, Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday held a closed-door meeting with three Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State House, Abuja.
The meeting is aimed at resolving the crisis currently rocking the ruling party that has seen the factions emerge within the ruling party, The NEWSMAN learnt.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi state, Atiku Bagudu; Chairman of Northern Governors Forum, Simon Lalong and Governor of Jigawa state, Abubakar Badaru were warmly received by the president.
Buhari had on Sunday met with Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, who after the meeting briefed State House Correspondents that the president would lead a push for settlement of the crisis within the next few days. He also said that the issues concerning service chiefs and rising insecurity especially in the North was discussed.
