NEWSMAN, Abuja – Following the attempted robbery at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Monday morning, a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has predicted that the Boko Haram insurgents may hoist their flag in the area soon.
It was reported that there was a robbery attempt at the residence of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Gambari, in Aso Rock on Monday.
Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu who confirmed that the attack was unsuccessful said the Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful”.
Reacting, the renowned activist said the incident is an indicator of the possibility that Boko Haram terrorists can takeover the Presidential Villa as done in some parts of Niger State.
Omokri urged Nigerians, not to expect protection from the president owing to his inability to prevent such attacks.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Reno said Nigeria needs a new president to save the country.
The post reads: “First Aisha Muhammadu Buhari and Tunde Sabiu Yusuf were engaged in a shoot out at Aso Rock.
“Then robbers raid the Chief of Staff’s house right in the middle of Aso Rock.
“What is to stop Boko Haram from hoisting their flag there next? We already know, from the Governor of Niger, that Boko Haram has already hoisted their flag in Niger State, which is two hours from Abuja”, he noted.
He added that if General Muhammadu Buhari cannot protect Aso Rock, you will be foolish to expect him to protect you, Daily Post reported.
“Nigeria needs a new leader, or there may be no Nigeria soon”.
