ASUU Strike: Senate, FG Delegation Meet Over Lingering Strike

NEWSMAN, Abuja – Senate leadership led by Senate President Ahmad Lawan has met with the Federal Government delegation over the continued closure of universities and how the crisis can be resolved.
Federal Government delegation present at the meeting are; the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu; Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, and Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.
The meeting is a follow up to Monday’s meeting between the Senate leadership and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU where critical issues were discussed and Senate President Lawan asked that they be given some time to discuss with the Federal Government on the controversial IPPIS and UTAS canvassed by the individual parties.
After opening remarks by Lawan and Ngige, the meeting went into closed doors .
