Actress Omotola and family recover from COVID-19 as world positive cases hit 25 million
NEWSMAN, Abuja – Weeks after testing positive for corona virus, Nollywood actress, singer, and philanthropist, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has announced that she and her family are now free from the virus.
The actress while thanking everyone for their thoughts and messages appreciated God for the recovery saying, “He is truly a dependable friend if you trust in Him. My kids and I are fine and COVID free now, and I do not take the experience for granted at all.”
Omotola warned that the virus is real, and prayed that people “don’t experience it to believe. If you ever feel ill during this pandemic, please know there’s nothing to fear or be ashamed of. You’re not alone”
She further advised that people should “please get tested immediately, it could save your life. Many have had COVID-19 and treated it as fever, malaria, etc and luckily they’ve been fine. However, a problem with that is they have probably gone on to infect others since they were not monitored or guided”
Meanwhile, according to data compiled by United States researchers, the number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has topped 25 million, with the U.S having the highest number of COVID-19 deaths, at more than 183,000, followed by Brazil with more than 120,000 and Mexico with over 64,000, News Agency of Nigeria reported.
Furthermore, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its recent report announced 138 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the nation’s confirmed cases to 53,865.
NCDC however, advised Nigerians to ensure that they wear their facemask properly at all times and adhere to all non-pharmaceutical measures on COVID-19 prevention.
