Abaribe Shuns Senate 2nd Year Anniversary Special Session
NEWSMAN, Abuja – Minority Leader of the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, on Wednesday rebuffed comments when invited by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, to cite the achievements of the 9th Senate in the past two years.
The Senate set aside the Wednesday plenary in celebration of the achievements of Lawan’s administration in the Senate since it was inaugurated on June 11, 2019.
However, there was a mild drama after the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, had delivered his speech and Lawan invited Abaribe to give his own speech.
The Minority Leader stood up and stated, “Thank you Mr. President but the Minority Leader will like to decline to make comments.
Lawan appreciated Abaribe for his comments, called others senators to make their comments, Daily Times reported.
Abaribe then walked out of the chamber.
