17-Year-Old Nigeria-Eligible Striker Set To Begin Training With Manchester United

NEWSMAN – A teenage striker of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire has been invited to train with Manchester United’s first team after catching the eye of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Athletic UK says Shoretire’s call up to first team training could come as early as this week and it’s a testament to the progress he has made over the last few seasons.
The England youth international could remain with the first team for long due to the bubble regulations in place.
The 17-year-old turned down offers from some of Europe’s elite clubs before agreeing a professional contract with Manchester United this month.

Shoretire enhanced his growing reputation by scoring his first competitive hat-trick for Manchester United U23s in their 6-4 win over Blackburn Rovers last Friday and set up the goal scored by Hannibal Mejbri
It remains to be seen whether he is included in the Red Devils gameday squad against West Ham in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday.
Shoretire is classed as an U21 player and eligible to represent Manchester United in the knockout rounds of the Europa League provided his name is submitted to UEFA by no later than 24:00CET the day before a match.
